What Does it Feel Like?

Earlier in the week, our students were experimenting with their sense of touch. We let them have fun and get a little messy with water and shaving cream. "What does it feel like?" was all we asked and they had some pretty interesting responses.
B: "It feels like cookie..it feels like peanut butter.. it feels like pizza!"
L:" Like cookie and peanut butter."

A said: "It feels like...soft. It feels like under with your hands."

L simply said: "Soft."

L: "...it feels like... cold. I feel like apple juice and water."

G: "It feel so cold!... It smells like snow."

R: "It feels so cold and so sand."

S: "It feels cold...soft and cold."

S:"It's sticky and soft."

R:"like...like cream. It smells like cream!"
Z: "Soft!"

"It feel soft and it feels sticky..."
A: "...it's turning to a ghost!"

L: "Soft!"

Our Slinky Slithering Snake

Our Intermediate Classroom California king snake, "Creeper," shed his skin last night. Visit our classroom to see the old skin and the new vibrant colors, and to feel how smooth and cool the snake feels. Creeper is very friendly...unless you're a mouse!

L is for Lizard!

L is for L-I-Z-A-R-D! Our pre-school friends embarked on one of their first adventures earlier this August. These young scientists discovered lizards in their school's garden and they made some interesting observations, as they pet and even held these fun reptiles.
"He walks with his legs. The lizard was scared. It looks like sand." -A

G: He feels so sad. He looked like a lizard. He bites
"The lizard walks with her feet. He feel like he trembles. He blinked. He moves his tail."-says R.
S's observation: "His tail moves. The lizard feels hard. He was shaped like oval."
